Master woodworker Sherwood Cox started woodworking while growing up on the Vermillion Bayou in Lafayette Louisiana. Building and repairing boats in his spare time. He was eventually asked to build furniture and other woodworking projects. Sherwood Started SLC Enterprises LLC in the late 1990's designing and building custom cabinets and other architectural millwork.
In 2003 Sherwood moved to work in New Orleans as the lead installer for a large commercial millwork company. While working for Advanced Commercial Contractors he lead the installation of millwork and cabinets in hotel lobbies, museums, court houses, many Tulane Medical School installations as well as very high end homes in New Orleans, New York City and Long Island.
After Katrina Sherwood worked a few years for Steven Chauvin of Chauvin Arkhiteckton in the New Orleans area. There Sherwood worked with Steven's unique blend of designing with choice antiques and modern methods that helped evolve the design in an esthetic and functional way.
Sherwood's love of architecture and design lead him to a career as an architectural photographer, though he has now come full circle back to his roots in design and execution. He now has Sherwood Cox Woodworks LLC in Birmingham Alabama where he lives with his lovely wife Lynn and family.
